Founded in 1967, Corona School Victoria Island is still blazing the trail in the educational sector. We continue to provide excellent service to generations of Nigerians and produce well-rounded and proud Nigerians.
Our school is sited in a serene area with a large green playing field, and green lush lawns conducive for children.
We provide children with a foundation for lifelong learning anywhere in the world, and life skills that prepare them to handle the challenges of modern life.
Our curriculum is designed to meet the needs of our children in an increasingly global environment while enabling them to develop their individuality. The school has achieved outstanding results over the years under various Heads of School supported by highly qualified, passionate, and dedicated teachers and administrative staff.
With our rich curriculum right from the creche, playschool, nursery and primary, we have a wide range of learning opportunities which is developmentally appropriate to cater to their various milestones.
The integration of technology into our teaching space has become a major resource for continuing education. As part of our continuous improvement and developmental efforts, we are constantly seeking new, relevant, and effective technology.
Digital technologies are used by teachers to develop 21st-century skills with pupils through 21st Century Learning Design. Our teachers are Microsoft Innovative Experts, and Microsoft Certified Educators (MIEE& MCE). We are also a Microsoft Showcase School.
To address the needs of children with additional needs, our teachers have received training and certification in early detection and intervention.
We encourage our children to develop their skills, interests, and talents in different areas through co-curricular and extracurricular activities that cultivate a passion for learning and curiosity, leading to lifelong memories and higher aspirations.
Guidance and Counselling faculty consistently improve every child’s quality of life and character development.
Children engaged in various sports activities such as basketball, football, athletics, and tennis, to enhance social relationships and skills such as teamwork, leadership, patience, discipline, learning from failure, Sportsmanship, etc.
They also learn to play simple instruments and basic elements of music. We have a vibrant school choir and band.
A strong partnership with parents is vital, and our parents actively participate in the Parents Teachers Association (PTA).

Our History
Corona Schools’ Trust Council opened its fourth school, in 1967 on Waziri Ibrahim Crescent Victoria Island Lagos. Mrs. G. Griffin who was transferred from Corona School Yaba, became the first headmistress of the new school known as Corona School Victoria Island.
Being at the heart of cosmopolitan Lagos harbouring various establishments, multinationals and residential houses, Corona School Victoria Island has always attracted parents from the professional and business community.
This school was run for 23 years by Mrs. Laide Sasegbon (1979 – 2002).
She was succeeded by Mrs. Lara Segun, a former head of three Corona schools, who went on to become the Educational Administrator of Corona Schools’ Trust until her retirement. To date, Mrs. Segun is now a Board member of the Corona Schools Trust Council. The baton of headship now rests with Mrs. Olaitan Shogaolu as the 9th Head of School.
Corona School Victoria Island is one out of the group of schools, managed by the Corona Schools’ Trust Council. Our ethos is based on sound moral principles and ethical values as expressed in our Mission Statement.
A leading independent school for boys and girls aged 3 to 18 months, 18 to 36 months and 3 to 11 years. We are in a beautiful and serene part of Victoria Island, in the South West of Lagos.
We are a large school with about 570 pupils on roll split into 24 classrooms, comprising of both nursery and primary schools.

Frequently Asked Questions
An interview is scheduled for candidates in Nursery One while a written test is first administered to candidates in other classes, followed by an oral interview.
Candidates are not considered for admission into terminal classes such as Class Six but transfers from sister schools are treated on discretionary basis by the Heads of Schools.
A provisional Letter of Admission, Parents’ Undertaking and Illness Indemnity forms are issued to successful candidates within the space of one week after the interview.
Acceptance of admission must be communicated after payment of fees has been made in designated banks and proof of payment sent to the business office within a period of two weeks.
Parents receive a welcome pack giving them information on what and how they are expected to prepare the child(ren) for resumption.
Tours are conducted on designated Open Days by each school, some before and some after the interviews; this is communicated to parents by individual schools.

Primary: 5 Years
Secondary: 11 Years
All of our dedicated staff work together to plan lessons and activities in order to incorporate a combination of real-life scenarios, play experiences, problem solving opportunities and book work.
The school offers a rich blend of the Nigerian and International curricula enriched with the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) in primary schools in addition to the British Curriculum in the secondary schools.
The curriculum is dynamic, eclectic, rigorous, and facilitated by professional and resourceful educators within a conducive and highly technologically integrated learning environment. Its application and implementation is robust and relevant to the real world, reflecting the knowledge and skills that pupils/students need to compete successfully as global citizens.
School resumes at 7.00am and closes at 1.00pm. However, after school activities run between 1.00pm-2.00pm, Mondays-Fridays.

Yes, all Corona primary schools run the same curriculum. The same applies to the Corona secondary schools.
We run a revolving admission cycle for all our classes.
Admission from the nursery into the primary is automatic for only Corona pupils. A diagnostic reading assessment is administered at entry level to ascertain the level of readiness for each child. This is necessary to provide the required intervention and support for each child.
Application forms for Creche cost N30,000.00 (Thirty thousand naira) only.
Application forms for Playschool cost N20,000 (Twenty thousand naira) only.
Application forms for Nursery cost N15, 000.00 (Fifteen thousand naira) only.
Pupils across all classes can be transferred from one primary Corona School to another at any time within the school year based on availability of space. The secondary schools can be contacted directly for midstream admissions.
