Description of Activity: 

  1. Students will conduct group research on selected music genres, dance, and traditional festivals in the target culture.
  2. There was a sensitization session on cultural norms, values and morals of selected countries vis a vis cultures. (Nigerian, Indian, and German cultures).
  3. Selected students made presentations on elements of their cultural heritage.
  4. Students appreciates cultures by showcasing their attires.
  5. Students will learn to sing selected traditional song(s) and showcase traditional dance steps.

 

Aims of Activity:

  1. To gain understanding and appreciation of the selected cultural variation in relation to global peace, stability and unity.

 

Outcomes

  1. Students learned about other languages and cultures’ norms and values.
  2. Students gained appreciation for cultural diversity and unity.
  3. Students learned cultural songs and dance steps.
  4. Students recognized the importance of cultural diversity for global peace.

 

Evaluation Evidence: Photographs, Video Clips

Impact:

This project fostered a more inclusive school environment by celebrating cultural diversity. Students gained a deeper appreciation for their own and other cultures, promoting understanding within the school community.

 

Future:

  1. Career development abroad: Students, particularly those who would like to study language courses will be able to travel to the UK and other countries to improve their language proficiency.
  2. Cultural exchange programme: Elements of cultures relating to religion, forms of government and recreational activities would be shared with Adamas International School, India.
  3. Assembly presentation: There would be a presentation on assembly on cultural heritage in the context of India.
