Corona College of Education graduates 170 Educators at their 5th Convocation

It was a showcase of excellence and success as Corona School College of Education located at 25, Association Avenue, off Obanikoro Bus stop, Ilupeju, Lagos held their 5th convocation ceremony. It was a momentous occasion for the school, its students, and faculty members. This event is a celebration of academic achievement, hard work, and dedication to learning, and it highlights the importance of quality education in shaping the future of Nigeria.

 

The event which held on the 23rd of April 2023 had a total of 170 graduands. The ceremony was graced by the presence of TRCN Registrar – Prof. Josiah Olusegun Ajiboye, Special guest of honour – Mrs. Folashade Adefisoye (Lagos State Commissioner for Education), Chairman CSTC – Hon. Justice R.I.B Adebiyi, Chairman, CCED Governing Council – Dr. Alero Roberts. CEO, CSTC – Mrs. Adeyoyin Adesina, Provost CCED – Dr. Olajumoke Mekiliuwa and Director of Education CSTC – Mrs. Tokunbo Matilukuro. Other dignitaries, parents, and well-wishers of the graduates were also in attendance.

 

The ceremony commenced with the academic procession of the faculty members, followed by the graduates.

 

Prof. Charles Ogbulogo (College of Leadership Development Studies, Covenant University) delivered the convocation lecture, highlighting the importance of quality education in Nigeria. He emphasized that quality education is a necessary tool for the development of any nation, and it is the responsibility of all stakeholders to ensure that every child has access to quality education.

 

After the convocation lecture delivered by Prof. Charles Ogbulogo, the graduates were called upon to receive their degrees. A total of 170 students graduated from the school with various degrees and certifications.

 

The convocation ceremony also saw the recognition of outstanding students who excelled in their academic pursuits. The following awards were given:

  • Chairman CSTC prize for best Overall Student (Professional Diploma in Education), Adeboye Chidinma Rosemary
  • Chairman CCED Council Prize for best Overall Student (Nigeria Certificate in Education), Awotunya Bisola Ruth
  • CEO’S Prize for best Student (Professional Qualifying Examination Integrated), Adeboye Chidinma Rosemary
  • Provost’s Prize for best Student Language and Communication Skills (Professional Diploma in Education), Omolade Rasheed
  • Director Education Prize for best Student Teaching Practice (Professional Diploma in Education), Egberemu Modupe Josiah and Awotunya Bisola Ruth (Nce)
  • Dean Student Affair’s Prize for best Student (Professional Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education), Ibekwe Jessica
  • Registrar’s Prize for best Student in (Professional Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education) Practicum, Arogunmaya Bolaoluwatito
  • Dean, School of Education for best student (Advanced Diploma in Educational Leadership and Management), Jayeola Samson

 

Overall, the 5th convocation ceremony of Corona School College of Education was a remarkable event, showcasing the school’s commitment to academic excellence and success. The certificates and awards given to the graduates and outstanding students are a testament to the school’s dedication to nurturing students’ academic and personal growth as well providing quality education to its students.
