School History

Corona School Ikoyi was established in its present location at No. 6, Mekwunwen Road, Ikoyi in 1960 with Mrs. Boyes as the first Headmistress. It is the third Corona School to be opened with the same drive to deliver quality education to children of all races aged 5 to 11 years old. Being situated in Ikoyi just like Corona Day Nursery Ikoyi, it serves as a continuing school for children from the Day Nursery and as such it is the only Corona School (minus the secondary school) that does not have a nursery school section in its compound. Another unique feature of Corona School Ikoyi is that it has the largest capacity and population of all Corona Schools including the secondary school and was run for 28 years (1970-1998) by one of the longest serving Corona staff, Mrs. Jean Abili (1960-1998).

The school is presently headed by Mrs. Adenike Onafeso as the 9th Head of School since 1960, Ms. Kehinde Alege as the Deputy Head and Mr. Abiodun Oseni, the Sectional Head.
